Klaviyo: Building a pickup reminder automation flow

Demo summary

A step-by-step walkthrough of building a custom flow in Klaviyo triggered by a 'Placed Order' event where the delivery method is 'pickup', including wait steps and conditional filters.

Step-by-step

  1. Click Create Flow and select Create from Scratch.
  2. Select Metric as the trigger and choose Placed Order.
  3. Add a trigger filter where Delivery Method equals pickup.
  4. Drag in a Time Delay component and set it to 28 days.
  5. Add an Email component after the delay.
  6. Click on the email to add a Profile Filter.
  7. Set the filter to 'What someone has done' and select 'Fulfilled Order zero times since starting this flow' where delivery method equals pickup.
  8. Save the flow.

Options

  • Use a pre-built template like Abandoned Cart instead of building from scratch
  • Add additional delays and follow-up emails for a longer sequence

Watch out for

  • The flow requires 'Placed Order' and 'Fulfilled Order' event data to be syncing to Klaviyo to function correctly.

Tips

  • Use profile filters to ensure customers who have already completed the desired action (like picking up their order) automatically fall out of the flow before receiving reminders.

Highlights

You're off and running. Dead simple.
