Adobe Audition: Animate captions using Transform effect

Demo summary
The demo shows upgrading captions to graphics and using the Transform effect with keyframes to create a 'pop-in' animation.
Step-by-step
- Select all caption clips on the timeline.
- Go to Graphics and Titles and select Upgrade Caption to Graphic.
- Search for the Transform effect in the Effects panel and drag it onto the first text clip.
- Adjust the Anchor Point and Position values in the Effect Controls to align exactly in the center of the text.
- Create scale keyframes (e.g., 90 to 105 to 100) to create a pop-in effect.
- Right-click the keyframes and select Ease In and Ease Out for smoother motion.
- Copy the Transform effect from the first clip and paste it onto all other selected text layers.
- Modify the Fill color in the Essential Graphics panel to customize the look.
Options
- Customize subtitles with different fonts
- Change fill colors via the Essential Graphics panel
Watch out for
- Captions must be upgraded to graphics before they can be animated like regular text layers.
- If the Anchor Point is not manually centered to the text, scaling animations will appear off-center or scale down while scaling up.
Tips
- Hold Shift while dragging the Anchor Point to move it vertically or horizontally more easily.
- Manually type in matching numerical values for both Anchor Point and Position to ensure they are perfectly aligned.
- Use a sequence of three keyframes (start, peak, end) to create a more pleasing 'pop' animation rather than a simple linear scale.
Highlights
“it's really easy really simple and it saves a ton of time because you used to have to do all of this manually and it would take hours and hours”
