Step-by-step

Drag your clip onto the timeline
Switch to the Color workspace by clicking Workspaces then Color
Go to Settings, select the Source clip, and click Add LUT under Input LUT
Apply the conversion LUT (e.g., C-Log 3 to Rec.709)
Navigate to the Edit panel in Lumetri Color to adjust sliders like Exposure, Highlights, and Shadows
Open the Lumetri Scopes panel via Window > Lumetri Scopes if it is not visible
Right-click the scope and select Waveform Luma to view light and dark values

Options

Skip the conversion LUT step if footage is already in Rec.709
Adjust Temperature slider for warmer (orange) or cooler (blue) tones
Double-click any slider to reset it to zero
Change waveform type to Luma via right-click menu

Watch out for

Keep IRE values between 0 and 100 to avoid losing color information
Avoid raising exposure or whites to the point where the waveform hits 100, as this causes clipping and loss of detail
Be careful with the Blacks slider; dropping it too low can cause immediate clipping and artifacting

Tips

Use the Color workspace to make the interface layout easier to manage
Use a conversion LUT provided by the camera manufacturer for the most accurate starting point
Perform color correction using Lumetri Scopes for 'science' rather than relying solely on your eyes
Remember that the horizontal position on the waveform graph corresponds directly to the horizontal position of elements in your video frame
