Mailchimp: Configure audience settings and double opt-in

Demo summary

How to manage audience settings, rename lists, enable double opt-in for verification, and set default sender details.

Step-by-step

  1. Click on Manage Audience and select Settings
  2. Click on Audience name and defaults
  3. Update the Audience name to your brand name
  4. Enable the Double opt-in checkbox under Form Settings
  5. Enter the Default From name and Default From email address under Campaign defaults
  6. Optional: Enter an email address under New subscriber notifications for One-by-one or Summary alerts
  7. Click Save Audience and Campaign Defaults

Options

  • Disable double opt-in to add subscribers to your list immediately without verification
  • Choose between One-by-one notifications for every signup or a daily Summary email

Watch out for

  • If you leave the Default email subject line the same for every campaign, your emails may be flagged as spam

Tips

  • Use your actual brand name for the audience name to maintain consistency
  • Enable double opt-in to ensure subscribers verify their email addresses via a confirmation link
  • Use a professional business email address rather than a personal one for the 'From' address
  • Leave the default email subject line blank so you are forced to write unique subjects for each campaign
  • Only use one-by-one notifications if you want an alert for every single individual signup
