Fl Studio: Rendering MIDI to Audio and Resampling

Demo summary
The instructor renders a MIDI pattern into a WAV file (Alt+R) and then manipulates the audio by pitching it down and reversing it.
Step-by-step
- Drag the pattern into the playlist and click the arrow to select Split by Channel
- Go to the Mixer, select the Master track, and click the arm recording button
- Press Alt+R, ensure Song Selection is enabled, and click Start to render the WAV file
- Double-click the rendered audio clip and set the mode to Auto
- Adjust the pitch knob (100 cents per semitone) or click Reverse to manipulate the sound
- Press C to activate the Cut tool to slice the audio on every bar
- Rearrange the sliced audio clips to resample the melody
- Change the declicking mode to Generic Bleeding
Options
- Pitch up or down by specific cent increments (e.g., 200 cents for two notes)
- Reverse the entire melody for a different sound profile
Tips
- Use Generic Bleeding mode to eliminate clicks or pops at the cut points of audio clips
- Manipulate audio files instead of MIDI because they are often easier to transform and yield different sonic results
- Right-click a track to solo it and hear the rendered file in isolation
