Fl Studio: EQing melody for 808 room

Demo summary
The demonstration shows opening an EQ on the melody track and applying a low cut under 100Hz to prevent frequency clashing with the 808.
Step-by-step
- Open an EQ on the melody mixer track
- Apply a low cut to remove all frequencies under 100Hz
- Right-click the EQ and select Create automation clip
- Automate the EQ to enable only when the 808 is playing
Options
- Enable or disable the EQ manually via automation based on the presence of the 808
Watch out for
- Do not leave the low cut enabled when the 808 is absent, as it removes the life and lower frequencies from the sample
Tips
- Leave the lower frequencies of the melody intact during the intro
- Only remove the lower frequencies of the melody during sections where the 808 is present to prevent clashing
