Fl StudioTry it →Watch full video →freeCodeCamp.org ·

Demo summary

The instructor shows how to add Fruity Reverb and Delay Bank to mixer slots and adjust the panning and stereo width knobs on the mixer console.

Step-by-step

  1. Open the Mixer console in FL Studio.
  2. Select an effect slot and add Fruity Reverb to the desired track.
  3. Add Delay Bank to a track, such as a clap, to create repeating echoes.
  4. Adjust the Panning knob to move sounds to the left or right of the stereo field.
  5. Use the Stereo Separation knob to make a sound more 'wide' or 'narrow' (mono).

Options

  • Set the delay to 'ping pong' mode to make the sound bounce between headphones.
  • Adjust the delay time settings to change the rhythm of the echoes.

Watch out for

  • When using ping pong delay, you may need to adjust the pan settings within the plugin for the effect to be audible.

Tips

  • Keep the bass and kick drum in the center (mono) to maintain a solid foundation.
  • Make the main elements of the track wider to create a fuller sound.
  • Use Reverb, Delay, and Distortion as your 'big three' primary effects for adding flavor.
  • Experiment with panning different elements to opposite sides to create space in the mix.

Highlights

that's just a few settings that that we can tweak... it's adding flavor
