Step-by-step

  1. Go to Send, click on Broadcast, and select New Broadcast.
  2. Choose a template or select the Text Only option for simplicity.
  3. Edit the text and add personalization by clicking the plus icon and selecting Subscriber's First Name.
  4. Customize elements like button colors, URLs, or add new blocks like videos, polls, or countdown timers.
  5. Enter a subject line and click Preview to view the layout on desktop and mobile.
  6. Click Continue and choose to send as an email or publish to the web.
  7. Select the 'From' email address and define the recipient segment.
  8. Choose to send immediately or schedule a specific date and time.
  9. Add preview text under Advanced Options and click Send Broadcast.

  • Use the 'Text Only' template for a simple look.
  • Embed a YouTube video URL or upload a video file directly.
  • Add interactive elements like products, polls, or countdown timers.
  • Publish the broadcast to the web to act like a blog post.
  • Filter recipients by specific segments (e.g., subscribers in the EU).

Watch out for

  • Ensure social media URLs are manually updated or deleted if not used.
  • The 'Build with Kit' badge must be manually unticked if you wish to remove it from the footer.

Tips

  • Always add personalization, such as the subscriber's first name, to the email.
  • Strongly recommend sending a test email to yourself to check the subject line and content before the real send.
  • Add a short and sharp preview text to appear under the subject line in inboxes.
  • Use the scheduling feature to plan your email strategy ahead of time.
