Demo summary

A demonstration of setting start and end keyframes for the position property to create a vertical movement animation for a shape.

Step-by-step

  1. Drag the playhead to the start of the timeline
  2. Click the stopwatch icon next to the Position property to enable keyframing
  3. Adjust the shape's position in the composition view to set the initial value
  4. Move the playhead to a later point in time (e.g., 5 seconds)
  5. Change the position value of the shape to create a second keyframe
  6. Move the playhead further ahead and manually enter a previous coordinate value to return the shape to its original position
  7. Drag keyframes closer together or further apart on the timeline to adjust the speed of the movement

Options

  • Animate rotation or size instead of position
  • Change values by dragging the shape in the composition view or by typing specific coordinates

Watch out for

  • The stopwatch button must be toggled on to start creating keyframes

Tips

  • Bringing keyframes closer to each other makes the animation move quicker
  • Increasing the space between keyframes results in a slower animation
