After Effects: Pre-composing layers for unified scaling

Demo summary
A demonstration of selecting multiple layers and using the Pre-compose command to group them, allowing for a single scale animation across all elements.
Step-by-step
- Select the first layer in the timeline
- Hold Shift and select the additional layers to be grouped
- Right-click the selected layers and choose Pre-compose
- Name the new composition
- Select Move all attributes into the new composition and click OK
- Adjust the Scale property of the new pre-composition layer
- Create a scale keyframe at 100% at the start of the timeline
- Move the playhead to 5 seconds and set the scale to 110%
Options
- Modify position or rotation for the unified group
- Double-click the pre-composition to edit individual layers or add new ones inside
Tips
- Use pre-composing to apply animations to multiple elements as one while keeping the ability to edit them individually
- Bring the working area down to preview specific sections of the animation
