ComfyUI: Image-to-Image Workflow with Denoise Control

Demo summary
Demonstration of converting a text-to-image workflow into an image-to-image setup using VAE Encode and adjusting the denoise parameter to control variation.
Step-by-step
- Click the arrow next to the workflow name or go to the File menu
- Select Save As to name the workflow and store it in the default directory
- Use Export to save the JSON file to a custom location on your computer
- Organize files by adding a folder name followed by a forward slash before the workflow name when saving
- Click the Refresh button in the workflow menu to see manually moved folders or files
- Drag and drop a previously generated image from your output folder directly onto the ComfyUI canvas to load its embedded workflow
Options
- Save (overwrites existing file)
- Save As (creates a named variation)
- Export (saves outside the ComfyUI folder)
- API option (for cloud-based workflows)
- Bookmark icon (adds workflow to favorites at the top)
- Search bar (locate workflows by name)
Watch out for
- JSON files do not include images or models, only the node instructions and settings
- Manual folder changes in the file explorer require a UI refresh to appear in ComfyUI
Tips
- Use Save As frequently to create variations of your workflows
- Organize workflows into folders early to avoid clutter as your library grows
- Open JSON files in a text editor like Notepad to view the structured node data
- Drag generated images into the UI to instantly recover the exact settings and seed used for that specific result
Highlights
“That is why workflow files are small in size and easy to share.”
