ComfyUI: Generating Images with Z-Image Turbo

Demo summary

A demonstration of setting up the modern Z-Image Turbo model, including the specific Model Sampling AuraFlow node and high-quality prompt generation.

Step-by-step

  1. Load the Z-Image Turbo model using the model loader node
  2. Add an 'Empty SD3 Latent' node and set the width and height
  3. Remove the negative text prompt node or collapse it
  4. Set the KSampler steps to 5 and CFG to 1
  5. Select 'DPM++ SDE' as the sampler and 'beta' as the scheduler
  6. Add a 'Model Sampling AuraFlow' node, set the shift to 3, and connect the model through it
  7. Add a 'Conditioning Zero Out' node and connect it to the negative input of the KSampler
  8. Input your positive prompt and run the workflow

Options

  • Use 768x768 resolution instead of 1024x1024 if you have low VRAM
  • Collapse the negative prompt node to visually indicate it is not in use

Watch out for

  • Do not use the standard 'Empty Latent' node; the SD3 version is required for this model architecture
  • The KSampler requires a negative input to function; you cannot leave it unplugged without causing an error

Tips

  • Use a 'Conditioning Zero Out' node to safely disable the negative prompt's influence without breaking the workflow
  • Use a large language model like ChatGPT or Gemini to generate more complex, detailed photo prompts for better results
  • Adjust the shift parameter on the AuraFlow node to subtly affect contrast and sharpness

Highlights

As you can see, it works just fine and we get a nice robot.
