ComfyUI Interface Overview

Demo summary

A walkthrough of the ComfyUI UI, demonstrating the canvas, node search, top bar controls, view settings, and how to properly close the application.

Step-by-step

  1. Launch ComfyUI using the 'Start ComfyUI' BAT file or the 'ComfyUI easy installer' shortcut
  2. Click the plus icon on the top bar to create a new blank workflow tab
  3. Use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out on the canvas
  4. Click the 'C' logo to open the main menu for file, edit, and view options
  5. Use the bottom-right view controls to toggle the hand tool or mini-map
  6. Open the command window from the taskbar and close it to shut down the application

Options

  • Navigate the canvas using the hand tool instead of the mouse wheel
  • Access templates and settings via the main menu or the dedicated sidebar icons
  • Toggle 'Hide Links' to clean up the workflow view
  • Change the interface appearance via the Theme menu

Watch out for

  • The first launch will be slower than subsequent startups
  • Nodes 2 is currently in beta and contains bugs; it is recommended to leave it off
  • Closing the browser tab does not stop the application; you must close the command window

Tips

  • Monitor the command window to see system details like VRAM, Python version, and CUDA paths
  • Use the mouse wheel for zooming as it is the fastest method
  • Keep the theme on 'Default' when starting out to make following tutorials easier
  • Use the plus sign on the top bar to create new workflows rather than the main menu for speed

Highlights

Instead of drawing on it, we will arrange blocks or nodes like using Lego pieces and connect things together
