Step-by-step

Load the Steinberg VST Amp Rack and select a clean amp model
Record the guitar performance
Edit and comp the recorded audio to select the best take
Set the auto align grid to 16th notes and apply auto quantize
Duplicate the track to create a separate lead and pad layer
Add chorus and delay to the lead track, adjusting the spatial and filter settings
Apply a shimmer effect and EQ to the second track to create a guitar pad
Mix the pad track by tucking it behind the lead tone

Options

Adjust delay timing between eighth notes and quarter notes
Reduce gain and add compression for a cleaner tone

Tips

Physically turn around while recording to reduce electronic buzz from the guitar pickups
Duplicate a single quantized take over and over to ensure rhythmic consistency
Filter the delay slightly to help it sit better in the mix
