Cubase 15: Sidechain pumping with Steinberg Modulators

Step-by-step

  1. Open the Steinberg Modulators plugin
  2. Select the Shaper tool
  3. Attach the Shaper to the volume knob by dragging it to slot one
  4. Select the Sidechain preset
  5. Set the timing to quarter note
  6. Adjust the slider to control the amount of throw
  7. Move the knob down to adjust the depth of the volume reduction

Options

  • Adjust the curve timing to bring the volume back up sooner

Tips

  • Use the Sidechain preset as a starting point to make it pump like a dedicated shaper box
