DaVinci Resolve: Creating a transparent background node in Fusion

  1. Click in the workspace and press Ctrl+Space to open the tool menu
  2. Type 'background' into the search bar
  3. Select the Background node and click Add
  4. Click and hold the output square of the Background node and drag it to the input of the Media Out node
  5. Select the Background node and open the Inspector menu
  6. Drag the Alpha value slider down to zero

Options

  • Select default tools from the quick-access row in the tool menu

Watch out for

  • The Media Out node will not display anything until a node is connected to its input
