DaVinci Resolve: Basic keyframe animation on the Edit page

Demo summary
Demonstrates how to use the position property diamonds in the Inspector to create a simple slide-on animation for an image in DaVinci Resolve.
Step-by-step
- Select the image on the timeline and open the Inspector
- Move the playhead to the start of the animation (frame 0)
- Click the diamond icon next to the Position property to enable keyframing
- Move the playhead forward to the desired end time (e.g., 3 seconds)
- Click the diamond icon again to set a second keyframe
- Use the navigation arrows next to the diamond to return to the first keyframe
- Drag the image off-screen to set its starting position
- Navigate to the second keyframe and ensure the position is set to zero
Options
- Reset all keyframes by clicking the reset icon next to the property
Watch out for
- Changing a property at a random spot on the timeline will automatically introduce a new keyframe
Tips
- Use the small navigation arrows to jump between keyframes instead of manual scrubbing to avoid accidental keyframe creation
- Understand that a keyframe simply indicates a change between two points in time
