Step-by-step

Deselect all items and tap Text in the bottom menu
Select Plain Text and type your content
Drag the handles on the orange timeline box to adjust start and end times
Use the preview window to scale, rotate, or reposition the text
Tap Style to customize size, font, color, and background
Tap Animation to apply entry or exit presets
Select Text Effects to browse and add pre-animated title presets
Customize the text within the effect preset and tap Done

Options

Choose between Plain Text or stylized Text Effects
Use text message presets to simulate conversations
Toggle between different color versions of the same text effect

Watch out for

The animation library has fewer presets compared to some other professional editing apps

Tips

Build out a full conversation by layering multiple text message effects
Adjust the timeline handles precisely to control exactly when text appears and disappears
