Step-by-step

Tap Overlay in the bottom left menu
Select a clip from the import window to add it as a new layer
Pinch or drag the clip on the preview screen to scale and reposition it
Drag the handles on the timeline to adjust the start and end times
Tap the scissors icon to split or cut the overlay clip
Press the trash can icon to delete unwanted sections of the clip

Options

Scale the overlay to full screen
Layer multiple overlay clips sequentially

Tips

Deselect the current clip by tapping out of it before adding a new overlay
