Youtube Create: Importing clips and setting aspect ratio

Step-by-step

  1. Create a new project
  2. Select your video clips from the media library
  3. Tap Import to bring the files into the timeline
  4. Tap the three dots in the top right corner to adjust project settings
  5. Select Aspect Ratio to choose between widescreen, portrait, or 1x1

Options

  • Select multiple clips to import at once
  • Generate an AI clip using the button at the top
  • Preview if a clip is portrait or landscape via the icon in the bottom left corner

Tips

  • Bring in your main camera footage first and edit it down before adding remaining clips
  • Wait to generate AI clips until you are in the timeline interface rather than during initial import
  • Use the three dots menu to manually change the aspect ratio if the automatic detection doesn't match your needs
