Step-by-step

Tap on the clip in the timeline to select it
Drag the white handles on either side of the clip to adjust the start or end time
Position the white playback marker at the point where you want to make a cut
Tap the scissors icon to split the clip
Select the unwanted section of the clip
Tap the delete button on the side menu or scroll the bottom menu to find Delete

Options

Remove gaps by dragging the start handle of the second clip back to the cut point
Remove sections by making two cuts and deleting the middle segment
Access the delete function via the side button or the bottom scrolling menu

Tips

Use the side delete button for faster access compared to the bottom menu
