Step-by-step

Go to Settings and click on Domains
Click on Set up custom domains
Enter a subdomain for your newsletter hosting (e.g., newsletter.yourdomain.com)
Enter a subdomain for your email domain (e.g., mail.yourdomain.com)
Click Finish Setup
Select the option to have Beehiiv help change DNS settings and click Proceed with verification
Log into your hosting provider account when prompted and click Continue
Wait for the verification to complete and click Done

Redirect your main domain to the Beehiiv landing page
Set up DNS records manually instead of using the automated verification tool

Watch out for

You must add a physical address before email providers will allow you to send emails

Tips

Use a subdomain for your custom domain rather than your main root domain
Only use the redirect option if you want your newsletter landing page to be your primary website
Expect verification to take between 10 to 30 minutes, though it can take a few hours
