Configure custom web and email domains in beehiiv

Step-by-step

1. Click on Settings in the bottom left of the screen
2. Select the correct Publication from the drop-down menu
3. Click on Domains
4. Click on Set up custom domains
5. Enter your custom domain under the Web Domain section
6. Enter your desired email domain under the Email Domain section
7. Review the entered domains and click Finish Setup
8. Configure the generated DNS records with your domain provider

Options

• Redirect your root domain to your website subdomain
• Use the same domain for both web and email
• Use the free beehiiv subdomain for email instead of a custom one
• Set up DNS records using the Entri automated method

Watch out for

• You must select the correct Publication from the drop-down before proceeding if you have multiple
• A root domain (e.g., yourdomain.com) is not considered a subdomain for the web domain field
• You must set up DNS records with your provider to complete the process

Tips

• Use a subdomain (like www. or newsletter.) for your web domain rather than a root domain
• Choose an email domain or subdomain that is not currently in use
• If using newsletter.yourdomain.com for web, consider mail.yourdomain.com for email
