Luminar Neo: Applying a Radial Gradient mask for color pop

Demo summary
A demonstration of using the Radial Gradient tool to apply a saturation boost in a localized, tapered circle around the main subject.
Step-by-step
- Increase the Saturation slider to the desired intensity
- Select the Radial Gradient tool from the masking options
- Click and hold the mouse in the center of the subject to place the mask
- Drag the mouse to adjust the size of the circle
- Use the handles on the outside of the tool to reshape the circle into an ellipse
- Click outside the mask and drag to rotate the ellipse
- Release the mouse to apply the tapered effect
Options
- Use the Brush tool instead of the Radial Gradient to paint in the effect
Tips
- Use the Radial Gradient to create a fall-off from maximum intensity to a soft taper to draw the viewer's attention
- Apply a high saturation boost first, then use the mask to restrict it to specific areas
Highlights
“this is a really nice way to create a nice strong effect where you want it and then taper it off through the scene”
