  4. Open a second instance of the Structure AI tool.
  5. Move the slider into negative territory to soften or blur distracting elements.
  6. Use a low-strength brush to paint the negative structure over distracting foliage or bright background areas.

Options

  • Toggle the 'eye' icon to see a before-and-after comparison of specific tool instances.
  • Use the left bracket key ([) to reduce brush size while painting masks.

Tips

  • Push tools all the way to 100% initially to clearly see exactly what the effect is doing before refining.
  • Build up masking effects in multiple passes with a lower opacity brush rather than applying 100% strength at once.
  • Apply the same tool multiple times (e.g., one for positive structure, one for negative) to target different areas of the photo.
  • Use negative structure to 'dull down' high-contrast areas that fight for the viewer's attention.
