Step-by-step
- Click on Music in the left-hand sidebar
- Search or browse categories to find a track
- Click the dropdown on the track to select a specific component like Intro, Chorus, or Verse
- Click Add a new track or use the shortcut Shift + T
- Rename the new track for better organization
- Place the playhead at the start and click Add to track
- Use the selection tool to drag talk tracks so they start after the music intro
- Hover over the music clip and drag the top handle to apply a fade-out
Options
- Search for music by keyword
- Browse music by category
- Select specific song components: Instrumental, Primary, Chorus, Verse, or Intro
- Use shortcut key '1' to activate the selection tool
Watch out for
- Ensure you add a new track before inserting music to avoid overlapping existing talk tracks
Tips
- Rename your tracks (e.g., 'Music') so other editors can easily identify the content
- Select and move multiple tracks simultaneously to maintain their relative timing
- Adjust the fade handle length to ensure the music transitions smoothly into the speech
