Step-by-step
- Hover over the left edge of an audio clip until a bar appears
- Press and hold the bar to drag and trim the audio to the desired start point
- Right-click on a track and select 'Split clip' to activate the scissors tool
- Click the scissors tool on the track to cut the clip at the playhead
- Select the unwanted segment and press Delete on your keyboard
- Click and drag the remaining clips to the left to remove empty space at the beginning of the timeline
Options
- Select the Split tool from the top bar menu
- Use the '2' key shortcut to activate the Split tool
- Hold the 'S' key shortcut to activate the Split tool
- Right-click to deactivate the scissors tool and return to the selection cursor
Tips
- Move the playhead to the exact start of the conversation before trimming or splitting to ensure precision
- Click anywhere on the timeline to quickly move the playhead to that position for previewing
