Mailchimp: Bulk tagging contacts via email list

Demonstrates using the Bulk Tag feature to apply a tag to a list of email addresses pasted directly into Mailchimp.

Step-by-step

  1. Click Tags in the left navigation menu
  2. Select the desired audience from the Current Audience dropdown
  3. Click Bulk Tag
  4. Type the name of the tag you want to apply
  5. Select the Paste Email Addresses option
  6. Paste the list of email addresses into the text field
  7. Click the Tag these emails action
  8. Click Apply tag

Options

  • Import email addresses from a file (spreadsheet or CSV) instead of pasting

Watch out for

  • Mailchimp will ignore any addresses that are not already in your audience when using the bulk tag feature

Tips

  • Use the bulk tag feature to tag a specific group of contacts all at once if you have their information saved in a spreadsheet
