Mailchimp: Verify and Authenticate Sending Domains

Step-by-step

  1. Go to Settings and click Domains
  2. Choose Sending Domains
  3. Enter your domain name and click Add
  4. Click View details in the Verified Domain column
  5. Enter a valid email address and click Send Verification Email
  6. Click the link in the verification email
  7. Click View details in the DKIM settings column
  8. Create two new CNAME records in your DNS settings using the provided values
  9. Set up a DMARC policy in your DNS settings
  10. Click Test DNS Settings to verify the configuration

Options

  • Verify domain via DNS TXT record instead of email

Watch out for

  • Authentication is required; you cannot send emails until this step is finished
  • You must update DKIM records and set up a DMARC policy to meet Google and Yahoo requirements

Tips

  • Authentication improves your chances of reaching the inbox and protects your domain from spoofing
