DaVinci Resolve: Basic color correction on the Color Page

Step-by-step

  1. Click the Color icon at the bottom of the screen to open the Color page
  2. Right-click the clip and select Use Remote Grades to link cuts from the same source
  3. Drag the Shadows icon up to brighten dark areas
  4. Drag the Highlights icon down to soften bright elements
  5. Increase the Color Boost slider to enhance saturation
  6. Adjust the Temperature slider to the left to cool the image
  7. Tweak the Contrast slider
  8. Click the toggle button at the top to view the before and after comparison

Tips

  • Don't be overwhelmed by the interface; as a beginner, you don't need to touch 99% of the settings
  • Use remote grades to automatically apply corrections to all cuts originating from the same source clip
