Step-by-step
- Locate the Ripple Edit icon on the main toolbar.
- Right-click the Ripple Edit icon to open the settings menu.
- Enable the option 'Ripple edit when editing media item edges'.
- Click and drag the right edge of a media item to expand or trim it.
- Observe subsequent items shifting automatically to maintain or close gaps.
Options
- Delete items directly to shift everything back to the next item
- Use Razor Edits by holding Shift + Alt and right-click dragging to select and delete multiple gaps at once
Tips
- Use Razor Edits as a faster way to clear out multiple small gaps in the timeline.
- Enable 'Ripple edit when editing media item edges' to easily add or remove space between takes without manual repositioning.
