Demo summary

The user identifies a high-pitched noise using the spectrogram view and demonstrates how to remove it using a spectral edit box and gain adjustment within REAPER.

Step-by-step

  1. Go to View and click on Peaks display settings.
  2. Select Spectrogram from the display mode list.
  3. Right-click on the audio item and select Spectral edits.
  4. Click Add spectral edit to item.
  5. Position and resize the spectral edit box to target the specific noise frequency.
  6. Adjust the gain knob on the box to turn down the noise.
  7. Click the three dots in the settings and select Show high resolution spectrogram when zoomed in.

Options

  • Spectral peaks (color-coded frequencies)
  • Adjustable contrast and brightness for the spectrogram

Tips

  • Enable 'Show high resolution spectrogram when zoomed in' for a much more detailed view.
  • Use the spectrogram to identify high-pitched noises that aren't visible in standard peak views.

Highlights
