Clipchamp: Editing audio files

Demo summary

The tutorial walks through adding audio to the timeline and applying the same trimming and splitting techniques used for video.

Step-by-step

  1. Click Import to select an audio file or use an existing one from the library
  2. Drag and drop the audio file onto the timeline or click the Add to timeline button
  3. Delete any gaps between the start of the timeline and the audio clip to move it to the front
  4. Drag the ends of the audio clip to trim the duration
  5. Click the Split icon or press S on the keyboard to cut the audio in the middle
  6. Select and delete unwanted audio segments

Options

  • Drag and drop files directly to a specific location
  • Use the Add to timeline button to place audio at the current marker position
  • Use the S keyboard shortcut for splitting

Watch out for

  • Clicking Add to timeline will place the audio where the marker is currently located, not necessarily at the beginning

Tips

  • Apply the same trimming and splitting techniques used for video files to your audio files
