Clipchamp: Changing video aspect ratio

Demo summary
The demonstrator shows how to switch between different aspect ratios like 16:9 for YouTube and 9:16 for TikTok/Shorts.
Step-by-step
- Deselect any video clips by clicking on an empty area of the timeline.
- Click on the Size button in the top right menu.
- Hover over the different aspect ratio options to preview the layout.
- Select your desired ratio, such as 9:16 for vertical content.
- Adjust the video on the canvas by cropping or resizing to fit the new frame.
Options
- 16:9 (Wide)
- 9:16 (Vertical for TikTok/Shorts/Reels)
- 1:1 (Square for Instagram/LinkedIn)
- 4:3 (Classic)
- 4:5 (Social)
- 21:9 (Cinema)
- 2:3 (Portrait)
Watch out for
- You will not be able to fit the entire original picture into a vertical frame if the source was filmed in 16:9.
Tips
- Hover your mouse over the aspect ratio options to see a live preview of how the video will look before clicking.
- Most users will only need to switch between Vertical and Wide formats.
