Demo summary

The demo shows how to use the Effects button to add real-time plugins, toggle them on/off, and reorder them in the effect chain.

Step-by-step

  1. Click the Effects button on the left side of the track
  2. Click Add Effect to select a plugin from the list
  3. Click on an effect name to open its control panel
  4. Use the IO button within the panel to toggle the effect on or off
  5. Drag effects up or down to reorder the processing chain
  6. Click the right arrow on an effect and choose No Effect to remove it

Options

  • Apply Nyquist effects to specific selected clips instead of the entire track
  • Download and install additional plugins via the Get More Effects link

Watch out for

  • You must relaunch Audacity after installing new plugins for them to appear in the list

Tips

  • Edit effect settings during playback to hear changes in real time
