Step-by-step
- Click on Audio Setup in the top toolbar
- Navigate to Host and select Windows WASAPI
- Go to Recording Device and select your system output
- Click the Record button to begin capturing internal audio
- Click the Stop button to finish the recording
- Switch the Host setting back to MME
Options
- Import FLAC, MP3, or WAV files instead of recording
Watch out for
- The system output must have the same channels and sample rates as the Audacity project

- Record with a vacant Audacity project for the best results
