Step-by-step

  1. Click the Animate icon next to the text layer
  2. Select Opacity from the list of options
  3. Set the Opacity value to 0
  4. Open the Range Selector properties
  5. Move the playhead to the start of the timeline and click the stopwatch icon for the Start property
  6. Drag the playhead to the desired end point of the animation
  7. Set the Start value to 100
  8. Press Space to preview the animation
