Bypass Suno persona restrictions using stems

Demo summary

The creator records a vocal sample in Suno AI and uses the 'remix/edit' and 'sample this song' features to generate an instrumental, then uses 'get stems' to isolate the vocals.

Step-by-step

  1. Upload or record at least 20 to 30 seconds of audio into Suno.
  2. Click the three dots on the audio clip and select 'remix/edit'.
  3. Select 'sample this song'.
  4. Clear all lyrics and enter a style description related to the target voice (e.g., 'soft male voice emo').
  5. Set 'weirdness' to 0, 'style influence' to 0, and 'audio influence' to 100.
  6. Generate the track and click the three dots on the result.
  7. Select 'get stems/midi' and choose 'vocals and instrumental'.

Options

  • Upload an existing audio file instead of recording directly in the app

Watch out for

  • The 'Create Persona' button must be grayed out for this specific workaround to be necessary.
  • You may need to run the generation multiple times to get the vocal to come through correctly.

Tips

  • Ensure the recorded audio is consistent throughout to help the AI get the vocal tone right.
  • Include the word 'samples' in the style description to help the AI process the input.
  • Use overexaggerated vocals during the initial recording to help define the persona.
