Adobe Express: Automating EQ envelopes in Mixer view

Demo summary
Mike demonstrates how to enable the EQ in the Mixer view and use automation envelopes to change low shelf and high shelf gain over time.
Step-by-step
- Open the Mixer view in Adobe Audition
- Switch on the Equalizer option for your desired track
- Click the triangle icon to expand the track and reveal automation envelopes
- Select a parameter from the dropdown menu, such as 'Low Shelf Gain' or 'High Shelf Gain'
- Click on the envelope line to create keyframes and adjust the gain over time
- Play back the audio to hear the EQ changes applied dynamically
Options
- Adjust Low Shelf Gain to make audio sound thinner
- Adjust High Shelf Gain to create a muffled or bassy effect
- Monitor real-time EQ changes within the Mixer editor window during playback
Watch out for
- The Equalizer option is usually off by default in the Mixer view
Tips
- Don't get overwhelmed by the large number of track options; focus on changing one setting at a time
- Use the High Shelf Gain automation if you want to muffle out a voice or specific audio segment
