Step-by-step
- Add a default text layer and position it where the object crosses over
- Right-click the title and select Create Compound Clip
- Select the compound clip and choose the Mask option
- Create a rectangle mask the size of your text
- Position the mask at the back of the moving object
- Add a transform keyframe
- Move the playhead forward and drag the mask to follow the object
- Adjust the Blur Strength to feather the edges of the mask
Tips
- Position the mask at the back of the truck to make it look like the vehicle is driving over and revealing the text
- Add blur strength to feather the effect for a more natural look
