Step-by-step

  1. Right-click the audio track on the timeline
  2. Select Speech to Text from the menu
  3. Choose the language and select the conversion range (Clip or Sequence)
  4. Check the box for 'Add automatical active words' to highlight spoken words
  5. Click OK to generate the captions
  6. Select a caption template from the right-hand panel
  7. Click the pencil icon to customize font, color, and size
  8. Click Apply to All in the bottom right corner to sync the style across all captions

Options

  • Translate the transcription into a different language
  • Convert only a specific clip instead of the entire timeline sequence
  • Manually resize text using corner handles in the preview window

Tips

  • Use the 'Add automatical active words' feature to add a nice touch by highlighting words as they are spoken
  • If text is hard to read, expand the text box handles to make it larger and clearer
