- Move the playhead to the desired position on the timeline
- Click the scissor button above the playhead to split the video
- Right-click on the unwanted clip section and select Delete
- Right-click on the resulting empty gap in the timeline
- Select Ripple Delete to remove the space automatically

- Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + B to split a video
- Right-click directly on a clip and choose Ripple Delete to remove it and the gap simultaneously
