Transform video environment with OpenArt VFX

Demo summary

The presenter demonstrates how to import a video of a woman in a parking lot and use a reference image and masking tools to transform the background into an ancient underground crypt.

Step-by-step

  1. Navigate to Video and select the VFX feature
  2. Import your base video and use the handles to trim the clip length
  3. Upload a reference image to the Target Look of the Output section or generate one using the prompt tool
  4. Go to Select Masks and choose a masking method like Auto Select, Smart Select, or the Brush tool
  5. Verify that the area you want to keep is masked, as everything else will be replaced by the reference image
  6. Describe the desired outcome in the prompt box
  7. Select your resolution (720p or 1080p) and quantity, then click Generate

Options

  • Replace background
  • Relight video
  • Generate reference images on the spot using Nano, Banana Pro 2, or GPT Image 2
  • Use 'Include areas' to isolate specific parts like the face by typing the name
  • Invert the mask selection
  • Adjust mask opacity or zoom in/out of the workspace

Watch out for

  • Whatever you mask is what will be retained; unmasked areas will be changed based on the reference image
  • The VFX feature is primarily intended for live-action video-to-video transformations

Tips

  • Use Auto Select for subjects as it effectively estimates the main person in the frame
  • Don't worry if the mask isn't perfectly accurate; the system typically works it out in the background
  • If you have very specific details for the environment, ensure they are included in the prompt

Highlights

this is a very simple process, and there's three main steps that I want you to keep in mind
