Demo summary

Shows how to use the Clone tool to sample an area (like a cat's eye) and paint a duplicate of it elsewhere.

Step-by-step

  1. Select the Clone tool from the toolbar
  2. Hover over the area you want to copy
  3. Hold down Alt and click to set the source point
  4. Adjust the brush size if necessary
  5. Click and drag on a different part of the image to paint the cloned area

Options

  • Use the Healing Brush tool instead of the Clone tool for removing blemishes

Watch out for

  • If the brush size is too large, the tool will start copying the surrounding area beyond your intended subject

Tips

  • Use the crosshairs that appear when holding Alt to precisely select your source area
