- Connect the start and end points to finalize the selection.
- Use the Move tool to shift the selected area to a new location if desired.
- Go to Select and then Inverse to select everything except the original area.
- Hold Shift while using the Magic Wand to add similar colors to the current selection.
- Use the Quick Selection tool to automatically bind an object with a single click.
Options
- Rectangle select for geometric areas
- Lasso for freehand drawing
- Polygonal Lasso for exact point-to-point selection
- Magnetic Lasso to snap to color differences/edges
- Magic Wand for selecting similar colors
- Quick Selection for AI-powered object detection
Watch out for
- When moving a selection, the original background area will become transparent (indicated by a gray and white pattern).
Tips
- Click once in a while when using the Magnetic Lasso to anchor the selection to the edge.
- Use the Polygonal tool and zoom in if you need to be really exact with your selection points.
- Use 'Select Inverse' if it is easier to select the background than the subject itself.
