  1. Add your main video clip with speech to the timeline
  2. Add a background music track from the Audio menu to the timeline

  5. Toggle the Audio Ducking switch to On
  6. Adjust the Duck Amount slider to control the volume reduction level
  7. Set the Fade Duration and Fade Position to refine the transition

Options

  • Use default built-in songs provided by Filmora
  • Adjust the ducking amount to be higher or lower based on preference

Watch out for

  • You must select the main speech audio/video clip first before enabling ducking to affect the background music

Tips

  • Zoom into the timeline to visually see the waveform changes where the music volume drops during speech
