Extract and use MIDI from Suno in Logic Pro

SunoTry it →Watch full video →Logic Pro Life ·

Demo summary

The user extracts MIDI data from a drum part in Suno, imports it into Logic Pro, and demonstrates how the clean MIDI data can be used to trigger Logic's native drum instruments.

Step-by-step

  1. Select the Advanced Split option for your track
  2. Navigate to the drum kit section
  3. Click the download button and select MIDI
  4. Wait for the analysis to complete
  5. Drag the downloaded MIDI file into Logic Pro
  6. Assign the MIDI data to a software instrument like Drum Machine Designer or Drum Kit Designer

Options

  • Use the MIDI data to trigger any internal Logic Pro sound or third-party instrument
  • Rely on Logic's auto-detection to automatically add an instrument based on the file name

Watch out for

  • Manual tempo adjustments made in the DAW prior to import may cause the MIDI to be slightly out of alignment

Tips

  • Use MIDI extraction to replace 'AI digital' sounding symbols and drums with high-quality native DAW samples
  • Solo the track after import to verify the cleanliness of the extracted data

Highlights

I've noticed how much better that this has gotten since it first came out in terms of how clean it is and what it can do.
