Set up a multi-track production in Auphonic

Demo summary
A hands-on demonstration of uploading multiple audio tracks, assigning speaker names, and configuring ducking and leveling settings for a multi-person podcast recording.
Step-by-step
- Select New Multitrack Production in Auphonic
- Upload the first audio file and assign a speaker name to the track
- Configure track settings including Noise Reduction, Leveler Strength, and Music Classification
- Set the Stereo Pan/Ducking priority (Foreground, Background, or Auto)
- Click Add Audio Track to repeat the process for additional speakers
- Select the Output File format and enable Speech Recognition if a transcript is needed
- Enable Crossgate to remove mic bleed and set the Adaptive Noise Gate to default
- Save the configuration as a Preset for future use and click Start Production
Options
- Toggle Noise Reduction on or off per track
- Use Whisper for speech recognition
- Enable Automatic Show Notes
- Switch to Broadcast Mode for advanced leveling
- Select Dialog Loudness under Program Loudness settings
Watch out for
- High-quality files (like 22GB folders) may take significant time to process
- Ensure Music Classification is set to Speech Track for vocal recordings to avoid incorrect processing
Tips
- Leave the track priority at Auto; the software is usually smart enough to figure out foreground and background levels on its own
- Use the Crossgate feature if speakers were recorded in the same room to eliminate audio bleed between microphones
- Stick to the default leveler settings as they are generally sufficient for most podcasts
- Save your multitrack setup as a preset to avoid manually configuring ducking and leveling for every episode
