Topaz Photo Ai: Adding a second enhancement layer

Demo summary
The video shows how to enable and stack a second enhancement layer using the Thea model to add subtle details and fine-grain noise to the upscaled video.
Step-by-step
- Go to File and select Preferences
- Navigate to Features under the Advanced tab
- Enable Show second enhancement features and click Save
- Click the second enhancement layer in the sidebar
- Select the Thea model from the enhancement list
- Adjust Fixed Compression, Sharpen, and Reduce Noise sliders
- Increase the Add Noise slider to break up patterns
- Click Render
Options
- Choose from a variety of different enhancement models besides Thea
- Render the first enhancement separately as a 'pre-m' if your system cannot handle multiple layers
Watch out for
- The second enhancement feature must be manually enabled in preferences if it is not visible
- Removing high levels of compression can result in flat-looking footage or visible patterns
Tips
- Use the Thea model for adding subtle final details and sharpening
- Add a small amount of noise (e.g., level 4) to break up artificial patterns and make the video look more natural
- Keep slider values for compression and noise reduction in a similar range for balanced results
