Step-by-step

Open the Clip Preview window
Place the cursor on the timeline
Click Set Start or Set End to trim the clip
Click and drag the timeline widgets to adjust clip length
Click the Split button to cut the clip at the cursor position
Enter a specific time in the cursor box for precise placement

Options

Use the View menu to change which tracks the Preview displays
Click Unlink to disconnect audio from video
Use 3D and 360 buttons to adjust the preview for specialized video files
